Heifer Chicago participates in Jewel-Osco Shop & Share Days, and similar programs with other retail stores.  On designated days, upon turning in our coupon, five percent of the purchases we make at Jewel-Osco go directly to Heifer.  These benefits have two results:

• They raise money for Heifer activities, with a minimum of effort on everyone’s part.  In previous years, we brought in as much as $4,000 through shopping benefits.
• They raise awareness of Heifer International. Distributing coupons to our friends and colleagues creates an easy time to talk about Heifer.

Volunteers are needed to:

• Identify additional promotional activities.
• Help with the publicity and coupon distribution, in particular to generate ideas that we can use regularly to persuade people to participate.
• Shop at participating stores on the designated days, and to encourage others to do so.
